Follow the latest updates from the second Virtual Grand Prix as Cricket World Cup winner Ben Stokes joins a grid consisting of six current F1 stars including Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Alexander Albon.
The event fills the void left the abandoned Vietnamese Grand Prix, with Melbourne’s Albert Park set to be used in the absence of the new Hanoi street circuit, and features a qualifying session from 8pm before a 28-lap race.
Joining Leclerc in the Ferrari Driver Academy Hublot Esports team will be his brother Arthur, while other familiar names on the grid including Nicholas Latifi and Lando Norris as well as former F1 world champion Jenson Button, Johnny Herbert and Anthony Davidson. Welcome to The Independent's live coverage of the F1 Virtual Grand Prix, which sees 20 drivers located around the world competing against each other online to fill the void left by the abandoned Vietnamese Grand Prix.
With the coronavirus pandemic forcing the first eight races of the F1 season to be postponed or cancelled, scheduled races will take place instead in order to give fans their fix of motorsports action.
After the inaugural event two weeks ago was hit by technical difficulties, everyone will be hopeful for a much smoother event and a full race, with a 28 lap affair planned on Melbourne's Albert Part circuit.
When is it?
The Virtual Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 5 April.
What time does it start?
The event begins at 8pm BST (9pm CET) and is expected to last around 90 minutes, with a qualifying session followed by a 28-lap race.
Where can I watch it?
The race will be broadcast live on the Formula One YouTube, Twitch and Facebook channels, and will also be shown live on Sky Sports F1 from 8pm. Live coverage will also be available on The Independent’s live blog of the race.
