Chelsea have been here before of course having won it so dramatically back in 2012. Manager Thomas Tuchel, who arrived at Stamford Bridge back in January before guiding them all the way here, reached the final of the tournament just last year of course - with PSG - only to fall to Bayern Munich. The Blues saw off Atletico Madrid, Porto and Real Madrid on their way here and, having beaten City in their last two meetings, will be confident they can triumph in Portugal.

Both teams are at full strength with Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and midfielder N’golo Kante both passing late fitness tests to be included. City have no injury concerns with Guardiola able to pick from a full-strength squad. Raheem Sterling gets the nod for the Premier League champions with both Fernandinho and Rodri on the bench.

How will Pep Guardiola respond to that first half? Thomas Tuchel was won the tactical battle so far. Timo Werner’s pace is causing huge problems, particularly when he’s up against Oleksandr Zinchenko.

    Advantage Chelsea at half time!

    Man City 0 - 1 Chelsea

45+3 mins: Half time. A very entertaining first half draws to a close with Chelsea in front in Porto. Man City’s defence became too stretched and Mason Mount took advantage of the open space to play Kai Havertz in on goal. He took his opportunity and joins Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba as Chelsea goalscorers in a Champions League final.

    Man City 0 - 1 Chelsea

45 mins: It’s a massive goal for Chelsea who take the lead in the Champions League final. Man City now have to respond, they haven’t created many chances in this half so Pep Guardiola may need a rethink at the break. There’s three added minutes to play in the first half though.

Timo Werner makes a great run off the ball to draw Ruben Dias away from John Stones and Mount threads the ball into the newly created gap. Thiago Silva is off, Christensen on

    Man City 0 - 0 Chelsea

39 mins: What a recovery from Zinchenko. Kai Havertz goes past the Manchester City left back and finds some space in the box. He cuts onto his left foot and readies himself to shoot only for Zinchenko to nip in a win back the ball.

Thiago Silva is down again. He’s not going to be able to continue and Andreas Christensen replaces him for Chelsea.

    Thiago Silva pulls up

    Man City 0 - 0 Chelsea

36 mins: Phil Foden and Thiago Silva both tussle over an aerial ball. Thiago wins the header and knocks the ball clear but he pulls up after he lands with what looks to be a twinge in the groin. The physios take a look at him so the game stops for a minute or so but the defender is going to continue.
