Ellie Simmonds says Tokyo games will be her last
American track star Hunter Woodhall is aiming to earn his first medal of the Tokyo Paralympics when he competes in the men’s 400m T62 final on day ten of the Games.
Woodhall is a social media star with 2.7m followers on Tik Tok, and is one half of an athletics power couple, along with girlfriend, Olympic long jumper Tara Davis.
He made history when he became the first double amputee to earn an NCAA Division I track scholarship at a US university and competed at the University of Arkansas.
At the Rio 2016 Games, Woodhall won silver in the 200m and bronze in the 400m.
Elsewhere, Team USA will compete for the gold medal in the women’s goalball tournament against Turkey, while the men’s team will try and win bronze against Lithuania.
And in wheelchair basketball the American men’s team will take on Spain in one semi-final, while Japan and Great Britain face off in the other tie.

Whiley and Shuker lift spirits on gloomy day for British tennis
There wasn’t much British cheer at the Ariake Tennis Centre, indeed the union flag that hung dank and abandoned on a railing sort of summed it all up.
Just after 2am local time Antony Cotterill and Andy Lapthorne lost their quads doubles bronze medal match and in the hours that followed Jordanne Whiley, Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett were all beaten in their singles semi-finals.
So when Whiley and partner Lucy Shuker returned to court for the delayed last four match of their women’s doubles campaign, the spirit in the camp was as gloomy as the skies above...

Simmonds leaves Paralympics with inspiring legacy intact
How Ellie Simmonds started and how she’s going couldn’t be more different.
From a 13-year-old agog at her achievements in Beijing to a 26-year-old wrestling with a legacy of inspiring a generation, Simmonds has spent half of her life in the public eye.
“I think this is going to be my last. I’ll go home and evaluate,” she tearfully told Channel 4. “To think as an eight-year-old, watching Athens 2004, that I would not just go to one Games but four...”

Storey secures place in history as cyclists dazzle on day nine
Mount Fuji might have been shrouded in mist but this result was never really shrouded in doubt. On a day of very British weather, it was all about very British domination.
And there was only one person to lead the charge, Dame Sarah Storey making history as she became Britain’s greatest Paralympic athlete of all time with a 17th career gold delivered with trademark grit and determination.
She led home a British one-two, Crystal Lane-Wright claiming silver, in the women’s C4-5 road race.
And then Benjamin Watson won the equivalent men’s race ahead of teammate Fin Graham, fellow Briton Jaco van Gass narrowly missing out on making it a podium sweep.
