    Wimbledon in numbers

The last-ever Manic Monday at Wimbledon produced a scintillating day of fourth-round action with men’s top seed Novak Djokovic and women’s number one Ash Barty both advancing to the quarter-finals along with a bunch of players who will be in the last eight at the grasscourt slam for the first time.

Djokovic cruised past Chile’s Cristian Garin to move to within three wins of a record-equalling 20th Grand Slam title, although Roger Federer, the man he hopes to join, remains in the hunt for a ninth Wimbledon title after beating Lorenzo Sonego.

Canada will have two representatives in the men’s singles quarter-finals here for the first time after Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime both made it past the fourth round. Shapovalov outclassed Roberto Bautista Agut and Auger-Aliassime won a five-setter against Germany’s fourth seed Alexander Zverev.

Djokovic will face unseeded Marton Fucsovics after the Hungarian beat Russian Andrey Rublev to reach the quarter-final of a slam for the first time.

Federer must wait to discover his quarter-final opponent after Daniil Medvedev’s match with Hubert Hurkacz was interrupted by rain.

Barty beat French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals for the first time where she will face compatriot Ajla Tomljanovic who ended the dream run of British teenager Emma Raducanu. Wildcard Raducanu retired when trailing 6-4 3-0 after failing to return from a medical timeout.

Seventeen-year-old Coco Gauff’s hopes of a first Wimbledon quarter-final were dashed by 2018 champion Angelique Kerber who produced a vintage display to win 6-4 6-4.

Tunisian trailblazer Ons Jabeur became the first Arab woman to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals after a dazzling win over Iga Swiatek and will play second seed Aryna Sabalenka on Tuesday hoping to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final.

So-called Manic Monday is unique at Wimbledon with all the men’s and women’s last 16 singles matches on the schedule. Next year the traditional middle Sunday rest day will be scrapped and the schedule changed. Relive all the action from Wimbledon below.

WIMBLEDON 2021: TOMLJANOVIC WISHES RADUCANU WELL

“I’m actually really shocked ... Emma must be really hurt if she wasn’t able to continue, playing here at Wimbledon as a Brit ... I wish her all the best.

“At the start, it was nervous from both sides of the net ... but in the second set I felt like I was playing well and I found my groove ... but if Emma was hurt maybe it kind of explains it.

“It didn’t really sink in that I’m in the quarters ... everyone at home will be happy ... I’m thrilled to play Ash [Barty] and I’m hoping it will be a great match.”

WIMBLEDON 2021: TOMLJANOVIC WINS THE FIRST SET

Raducanu is taken to deuce on serve and a brutal rally ensues that ends with the 18-year-old’s hands on her knees. Tomljanovic takes the set.
