Winter Fuel Allowance is a Government-run scheme which gives a payment to eligible Britons to help towards the extra costs of heating. As the colder months arrive in the UK, many of us turn to our central heating to stay warm - and this can see monthly bills mount up.

With the extra cost of heating during the winter, several schemes have been set up to ensure no one goes cold.

These often include grants towards heating bills and are based on a claimants age, circumstances and location.

And with more and more of the UK working from home due to the pandemic, household bills have gone up in recent months.

One such scheme to save money on heating bills is the Winter Fuel Allowance.
