England 64-1 (Pope 29, Duckett 28)
Scott Boland is given the ball for the next over. He had found a bit of movement just before lunch.
Can he find it again?

England 64-1 (Pope 29, Duckett 28)
Short, wide and four runs! Pope cuts Green away to the boundary and England’s lead goes over 100.
Pope then takes a single to get off strike.
Duckett has to contend with a touch of extra bounce and rises well to get on top of a good length ball than rises sharply.
Five runs off the first over after lunch.

England's morning
It has undoubtably been England’s morning so far.
Australia only managed to add nine runs to their overnight score before Brydon Carse dismissed Nathan Lyon to ensure England had a 40 run lead after both teams had batted.
England’s second innings then got off to a terrible start as Zak Crawley only lasted five balls before Mitchell Starc took his wicket leaving the tourists 0-1.
It was their only blip though as Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett put on 59 - the highest partnership of the match so far - to extend England’s lead close to 100.
Another session of composed batting after lunch and the match will swing firmly in England’s favour.

Duckett restricted
Ben Duckett across his Test career has a very good record playing the cut and pull shot, scoring a high proportion of runs square on either side of the wicket.
In this Test though, he's scored only 24% runs square of the wicket - the lowest in a Test for the left-hander in his career. On average he has scored 63% runs square of the wicket in his Test career.

Duckett and Pope build England's lead
A fine partnership of 59 from Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope has increased England’s lead to 99.
A scare for Duckett on the stroke of lunch saw the opener given out LBW but he overturned the decision and will come back out after the break.

Lunch: England 59-1 (Pope 24, Duckett 28)
After a bit of treatment, Duckett plays on and faces the final ball of Boland’s over.
Boland comes back over the wicket and brings the ball into the left-hander.
Duckett misses it and the ball strikes him in the top of the back pad. There’s a loud appeal from Australia and the finger is raised.
Duckett reviews and hawkeye shows that the ball pitched outside the leg stump!
Duckett survives and England head into lunch just one wicket down.

England 59-1 (Pope 24, Duckett 28)
Ollie Pope’s run of dot balls comes to an end as he pushes Boland to mid on and takes a quick single.
Boland has switched up the angle to Duckett and is now coming round the wicket.
He targets the body and strikes the England opener who grimaces after a knock on the elbow.
The physio comes on with a ball left in the over, England don’t want Duckett to have to go off...

England 58-1 (Pope 23, Duckett 28)
That’s good. Duckett leans into an overpitched full ball from Doggett and drives straight down the ground.
He picks up four runs and takes England to 58 which is also the biggest partnership of the match so far.
Will we see a bit of Nathan Lyon before lunch?
