JetBlue have launched “first-of-its-kind” flights that do not allow children aboard as part of an adults-only package holiday.

While airlines have dabbled in child-free policies in first-class cabins or quiet zones in sections of the plane, airlines generally do not offer flights that are completely child-free.

As part of a collaboration between JetBlue Vacations and Virgin Voyages, the travel companies have launched “Do Not Disturb”, a package holiday that provides a child-free JetBlue flight with an adults-only Virgin Voyages cruise.

Bookings opened this week for the exclusive flights and cruise package from 4 to 8 March 2027, costing $2,750 (£2,056) for two people.

Designed exclusively for travellers aged 18 and older, the package holiday starts and ends with child-free JetBlue flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood airport in Florida.

Guests will have access to JetBlue’s BlueHouse airport lounge in New York on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once on board, all passengers will receive a complimentary drink for an in-flight toast to kick off the child-free getaway.

Transfers between the airport and PortMiami will be arranged, where guests will then board Virgin Voyages’ new vessel, Brilliant Lady, for a four-night trip.

While Brilliant Lady has 1,330 cabins in total, only 60 of these will be available as part of the “Do Not Disturb” package.

More complimentary drinks are supplied at sea as the cruise includes a $100 (£75) bar tab per cabin and an onboard welcome party complete with a special “Do Not Disturb” cocktail.

Virgin Voyages also promises more exclusive in-cabin surprises and a chance for 10 travellers to win $50 (£37) onboard credit to put towards shore excursions or treatments in its spa.

The itinerary includes stops at Key West, Florida and Bimini, the Bahamas, where Virgin Voyages has its own beach club.

The private, adult-only beach club is open only to cruise guests and features a 6,200-square-foot pool, a private beach with hammocks, daybeds, and lounge chairs, and a Bahamian-inspired menu.

Jamie Perry, president of Paisly, which owns JetBlue Vacations, said: “We love creating vacations for all kinds of travellers, including families, but we also know there are moments when adults are looking for a different kind of getaway.

“With ‘Do Not Disturb’, we wanted that feeling of truly switching off to start well before you step onto the ship.

“From the flight to the transfer to the cruise itself, we’ve thought about the entire journey so our customers can simply show up, settle in and enjoy some uninterrupted time away. And partnering with Virgin Voyages gave us the perfect opportunity to have a little fun with it.”
