The Cuban government hosted a rally in support of former president Raúl Castro after the US indicted him over the downing of two civilian airplanes 30 years ago. The charges against him include conspiracy to kill US nationals, murder and destruction of an aircraft.
The rally took place outside the US embassy in Havana, where thousands of Cubans waved flags and chanted "Long Live Raúl". The 94-year-old was not present.
The BBC’s Will Grant spoke to supporters at the pro-government rally, including Castro’s daughter, Mariela Castro.
