The Monzo banking app has gone down, with thousands of customers reprting issues. Data from Downdetector showed nearly 3,000 reports regarding issues as of 12.51pm.

Monzo customers have taken to social media to vent their frustration. One wrote: "@monzo are there issues with transfers today? Sent from one Monzo to another but not showing on the recipients account." Another said: "@monzo is the app down? Having issues transferring money.

A Monzo spokesperson told The Express: "We’re currently experiencing a technical issue and are working to resolve this as soon as possible. In the meantime we've moved into our back up system Monzo Stand-in and customers can still do most things on their Monzo app including sending bank transfers and making card payments and ATM withdrawals.”
