Celtic booed off as week of woe ends with Rangers delivering another Old Firm humiliation

Rangers racked up a second win over Celtic in eight days as boos rung around an all-green Parkhead following a 1-0 defeat by the Light Blues.

Celtic’s 74-year-old boss Martin O’Neill went into the game under the spotlight after two successive losses, including a bruising 3-0 Scottish League Cup loss to Gers at Ibrox last Sunday.

To silence inside a stadium populated with home fans only, Gers striker Ryan Naderi opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and it was enough for another huge victory for Derek McInnes’s men who will feel they should have added to that goal after the break.

It was a first Scottish Premiership defeat of the season for the home side, who are just two points ahead of their Old Firm rivals at the top of the table going into the international break with more pressure on O’Neill.

    Celtic 0-1 Rangers, 90+2 mins

Rangers have the ball down in the Celtic corner. This is ideal for them.

It comes out but a couple of crunching tackles in midfield from Rangers. Full commitment! And then Baur fouls Devlin out wide, so Rangers can take it back into the corner.

Play stops for 30 seconds while Scales re-ties his laces after losing his boot and then he promptly gives the ball away once we resume. Good stuff...

Raskin then gets a late yellow card.

Couple of Rangers subs to try and see this out. Chukwuani and Devlin on for Neil and Kelsy.

Celtic with a last throw of the dice - Liam Scales off and young Chelsea loanee Shim Mheuka on.

    Celtic 0-1 Rangers, 86 mins

Celtic are starting to (finally) ramp up the pressure here. The fans are starting to make more noise as well.

They’re putting balls into the box and then win a corner. The big boys come up from the back...

Hassan with a good cross, Scales flicks on, only half-cleared and Forrest’s strike deflected over the bar for another corner.

This time Kelsy heads away Tounekti’s cross and Rangers relieve the pressure for now.
