Liverpool head into tonight’s Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid with a squad relatively free from injury. 

Only Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne look set to miss out for the Reds, but neither would have been likely to threaten Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven in Madrid. 

Sadio Mane returned from injury against Norwich on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring issue. 

The same cannot be said for Atletico, who may be without Kieran Trippier, Joao Felix and Hector Herrera. 

Diego Simeone received a boost in the form of Diego Costa’s return to training last week and the Spaniard is in contention to feature in the first leg of the round of 16 tie. ​

Simeone’s side have been a notoriously tricky opponent over the years but Atletico are at a noticeably low ebb. Liverpool have struggled at times away in Europe but their incredible form is likely to continue here, especially after the return of Mane.
