The parents of Brian Laundrie have been filmed clearing away discarded items left behind by protesters outside their home.

Chris and Roberta Laundrie were spotted on Sunday evening moving white laundry bins that had been left there. A poster with an image of Gabby Petito was also reportedly moved.

A police manhunt for Mr Laundrie remains without leads after a Florida nature reserve was searched, and there is only a 50 per cent chance the missing man is still alive, police have said.

Josh Taylor, the North Port police spokesperson, told CNN that nothing significant linked to Mr Laundrie has been found in the Carlton Reserve, but searches will continue until police receive more information.

It comes as a bounty hunter involved in the search said he was withdrawing from the operation after suffering an ankle injury.

Gabby Petito homicide ‘nowhere near’ a cold case, Palm Beach County state attorney declares

The Palm Beach County State Attorney clarified that the Gabby Petito case is “nowhere near” to be declared a cold case.

In response to an audience question, Dave Aronberg told News Nation Now that “a case becomes cold when all investigative leads available to the primary investigators are exhausted… It is usually after a period of time. In many jurisdictions, the time is three years.”

He added that even if it is a cold case, they are periodically reviewed when new technologies can help. “They are not put aside. It [a cold case] still remains open.”

What to expect during the coroner’s press conference?

Jason Jenson, a Salt Lake City-based private investigator, suggested that the Teton County Coroner’s office might discuss the results of a post-mortum toxicology test on Tuesday — which detects drugs in a body.

Dr Brent Blue announced that he will address the media and give an update on the ruling on Gabby Petito’s autopsy on Tuesday via Zoom at 2.30pm EST.

Mr Jenson told Fox News: “I wouldn’t be surprised that it’s manual strangulation. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s choked her before. Any victim that’s been choked before — their natural reaction is to lower their chin to their clavicle to prevent that hand from going around their throat.”

He also said that the cause of death might be asphyxiation. Gabby Petito was found dead in Wyoming after she went missing on a cross-country trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.

Meanwhile, former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer told Brian Entin of News Nation Now that the “coroner is going to reveal the official results, however, I’ll be very very surprised if he reveals the exact cause of death.”

Teton County Coroner to give Petito autopsy update on Tuesday

Teton County Coroner, Dr Brent Blue, is holding a press conference on Tuesday regarding the ruling on the autopsy of Gabby Petito.

The press conference will be hosted on Zoom at 12.30pm EST (2.30pm Mountain Time).

On 19 September, the FBI discovered Petito’s remains at a campground in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

She was declared a victim of homicide. And her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, was named a person of interest in the case. Even though he has not been charged with anything related to the homicide, he has a federal arrest warrant on his name for debit card fraud.

Dr Blue, during the press conference, might also reveal Petito’s time and cause of death, reports said.
