Sipping wine among the vines, strolling through medieval towns and sailing over turquoise-tinted waters to forested islands and sandy coves. These are the moments that travel is all about, the scenery and experiences that stop you in your tracks.
Often, though, arranging trips with others can feel impossible. Whether you’re trying to book a family trip, struggling to find a date with friends, or just can’t quite agree on a destination with your other half, but that needn’t stop you from getting out there and exploring the world.
As pioneers of solo travel trips, Just You have the expertise to curate exciting, inspiring itineraries that work perfectly for independent adventurers. In fact, they’ve been doing just that for over 25 years. Travelling on an organised solo trip gives you the best of both worlds; the freedom to choose exactly where you want to go, plus the company of like-minded people.
For many travellers, those one-time ‘strangers’ go on to become lifelong friends. That was the experience for Sheona Leonard, who headed out on a Just You trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia – and returned with a lifetime of memories.
Experts that know the destination’s highlights and hidden gems

Sheona fell in love with solo travel on her first Just You trip to Tuscany, Italy, travelling through fragrant countryside, touring vineyards and visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa. This time, she booked Just You’s Deluxe Dubrovnik & The Dalmatian Coast tour, spending eight days exploring Croatia and neighbouring Montenegro.
“I knew so little about Croatia, but the Deluxe Dubrovnik tour blew me away – ‘stunning’ doesn't quite cover it,” says Sheona. “Cavtat was the perfect base, and the five-star Hotel Croatia Cavtat delivered in every way – spacious, luxurious, a balcony overlooking the sea and staff who couldn’t do enough for us.”
Like all their tours, the trip was hosted by a Just You Holiday Director. Sheona explains that theirs, Sandra, was “a wealth of knowledge and warmth”. Sandra’s role was to ensure everyone got the most out of their travels, arranging immersive tours in iconic destinations like Dubrovnik’s walled town, as well as taking the group to explore less-visited gems off the typical tourist routes.
“Ston's fortress walls were fascinating, if a knee-testing climb,” reminisces Sheona of the visit to the historic town. “And the family-run winery lunch was pure magic – intimate, honest, full of stories about the harvest and the challenges that come with it. While the Montenegro part of the trip was my absolute highlight.”
Adventures and experiences for solo travellers only

Because the solo travel experts at Just You really know their stuff, they’ve thought of everything you need to relax and slip into holiday mode with ease. Each itinerary includes incredible, immersive experiences and excursions, with free time to explore at your own pace.
All of the ‘boring’ bits and important details are sorted, too, with trips financially protected through ABTA and ATOL, while Just You’s partnership with the Planeterra Foundation helps to support local projects and social enterprises in many destinations.
You’ll get a twin or double room all to yourself with no supplement, have breakfast included each day as well as many other meals, and join a get-together at the start of the trip, so everyone can start getting to know each other.
Because Just You exclusively craft itineraries for solo travellers, you won’t be sharing your holiday with couples or families. These tours are thoughtfully designed to make sure every person experiences their adventures with others who share their interests and passion for travel.
“As well as the stunning scenery it was an added bonus to meet fellow travellers and share the new experiences together,” says Sheona. “There were 25 people in our group from all walks of life, which provided hugely entertaining and frequently comical life stories and topics which were shared over dinner and a few wines. A great way to meet new friends!”
How to discover even more of Croatia

Sheona’s trip included a cruise around the Elafiti Islands, a small archipelago northwest of Dubrovnik, spending time on islands including pine-clad Koločep and Šipan, home to old stone villas, olive groves and vineyards.
“The Elafiti Islands Cruise was a joy, especially discovering Šipan’s small wine-and-olive-oil producer, welcoming us into her home to dine on delicious wine and cheeses like old friends,” adds Sheona, who was also able to carve out time to explore without the group, strolling the promenade and lingering in local art galleries in Cavtat, southeast of Dubrovnik.
And Sheona is already planning a return trip to explore more of this beguiling country. Just You has itineraries exploring ancient walled towns and Croatia’s beautiful, island-scattered Adriatic coastline. Go island-hopping on a cruise around islands and coastal stretches with tucked-away coves, empty beaches and charming, terracotta-tiled towns, or zoom in on the gorgeous Makarska Riviera, spending time on pine-backed beaches, tasting local cheeses and just-caught seafood and hiking through national parks.
With more than 100 inspiring itineraries across six continents – from hiking portions of the Camino de Santiago in Spain to an epic adventure tracing the ancient route of the Silk Road – there’s no need to put those adventures off any longer.
