15 mins: Liverpool threaten to break on the counter attack as Salah knocks the ball to Firmino before sprinting forward. Dias steps up and strongly wins the ball off the Liverpool striker. He gives it to Gundogan who sweeps it wide for Sterling. He drives into te box and loses the ball to Alexander-Arnold.

12 mins: Liverpool almost find a way through with a run of one touch passes. Jones to Wijnaldum up to Firmino who threads the ball into the box for Salah making the run but he's unable to bring it under control and City regain the ball.

9 mins: City switch the play out to Sterling on the left wing. He brings the ball to the edge of the box and cuts it back for Zinchenko who puts a cross into the middle. Henderson gets up high and heads the ball clear for Liverpool.

6 mins: Gundogan is fine to continue. Liverpool attack down the left side with Robertson passing the ball up to Mane. He squeezes it square to Firmino who tries to pick out Jones but gives the ball away. There's been a few sloppy mistakes for both sides in these opening stages. A sign of nerves perhaps?

3 mins: The action moves into the midfield with Gundogan in possession. He's tackled by Thiago who takes out the Man City man and Gundogan goes over on his ankle. The physios come on to take a look at him as Thiago is shown a yellow card for the challenge.

Kick off: Man City get the match started, Liverpool press high and the ball is played back to Ederson. He gives it to Stones who shares a couple of passes with Dias before the ball comes back to Ederson who kicks the ball straight to Sadio Mane.

The teams make their way out onto the pitch. Lots at stake in this one. If City win they'll move five points clear of Manchester United with a game in hand and 10 points clear of Liverpool. If the Reds are victorious they'll move up to third and keep City within touching distance.

Man City goalkeeper Ederson has gone 768 minutes without conceding a league goal, and has more clean sheets (13) than goals conceded (12) in the top flight this season.

City have conceded just once in the 11 league matches Ruben Dias and John Stones have started together (W10, D1), with that goal a late consolation for Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi in a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge.

A 14th consecutive win in all competitions for Man City would equal the record by a top-flight English club, set by Preston in 1892 and matched by Arsenal in 1987. They could also keep a club record seventh Premier League clean sheet in a row.
