A truck filled with 2,000kg of illegal fireworks has exploded while police officers were in the process of seizing the goods.
At least 17 people were injured - most of them police officers - when the truck went up in flames in Los Angeles.
Cars and houses were damaged by the blast, with investigators remaining on site to make sure buildings were safe.
