The world’s “happiest country” is inviting singles from around the world to find love on a foodie four-day holiday.
Visit Finland will welcome 16 singles to a blind dinner date in February to discover Finnish food and meet new people.
The national tourism authority is offering the candlelit experience as part of the second phase of its “Have Some Finnish” campaign.
From 9 to 19 February, two dinners with eight participants will take place in Helsinki and Tampere.
In Helsinki, guests will enjoy a tasting menu created by chef Adele Kinnunen, head chef at Café Savoy, and in Tampere the menu will be specially crafted by chef Henry Tikkanen.
The four-day culinary journey will include exclusive group dinners featuring one of Finland’s “official” tasting menus launched earlier this year.
According to Visit Finland: “For food-loving travellers looking to discover something new, Finland offers a refreshing alternative to Europe’s more familiar culinary hotspots, with dining experiences that go well beyond the restaurant table.”
Finnish specialities include wild fish, game, foraged berries and mushrooms.
Heli Jimenez, senior director, international marketing at Business Finland, said: “Finnish food is a direct expression of our famously happy way of life: a way of connecting to place, to season, and to the people around you.
“Food brings Finns together, and now we are inviting travellers to join us in a truly one-of-a-kind way.”
To apply, single applicants must answer the question: what would you serve on a dinner date, and why? in a short video.
Jimenez added: “From sauna food traditions to foraging, Finnish cuisine tells a story that exists nowhere else. We want visitors to experience that story in full.
“Coming to the world’s happiest country, they may find love – with each other, with Finnish food or with their new favourite travel destination.”
Applications close at 10am on 10 November, with winners announced on 1 December 2026.
