On the opposite side of the draw, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig have already secured their places in the final four, and the winner of this evening’s tie will face either Manchester City or Lyon in the other semi-final next week.
The last time Barca and Bayern met in the competition was in the final four in 2014/15, with the La Liga side beating their German opponents 5-3 on aggregate before going on to lift the trophy. Follow all the live action below:
Glorious. Alphonso Davies gives Nelson Semedo a lesson on the left wing as he dips a shoulder and runs past the defender. He brings the ball into the box and cuts it back for Kimmich who side foots it into the net. Bayern have a three-goal lead, again.
60 mins: Suarez is punished for a pretty indifferent challenge. Jordi Alba is frustrated at the decision and he picks up the ball and throws it at the referee. Unsurprisingly that behaviour is enough to put him in the book.
Game on! A long ball up the pitch comes to Jordi Alba who picks out Suarez on the edge of the box. Suarez wrong foots Boateng and squeezes into the box. He looks up and slots the ball past Neuer's left arm. Two to go for Barca.
56 mins: Barcelona are chipping away at Bayern. They win a corner and Messi slots it into the six yard box but Perisic is back to defend and he heads the ball away.
54 mins: The ball comes up the pitch for Vidal who is challenged by Davies. Vidal goes down under the challenge and Davies goes in the book. Barcelona have a free kick over on the right wing.
Messi takes it and sends the ball into the box. Kimmich wins the ball and Bayern break with Lewandowski. He cuts inside and tries to pass it to Perisic. The ball deflects to Muller in the box and he lays it off for Lewandowski to knock it into the back of the net which he does.
51 mins: Neuer sends a long ball up the pitch. Muller takes possession despite three defenders from Barcelona challenging him to the ball. He lays it off to Perisic who fires a shot straight at Ter Stegen who grabs hold of the ball.
What a first half. Barcelona were shambolic at the back and offered very little in front of goal as well. Bayern were exceptional. They're full of confidence and it's showing out on the pitch.
45 mins: Sergi Roberto finds Suarez with a slick pass. Boateng comes across in an attempt to block the ball but Suarez gets a shot away but it is straight at Neuer who saves it.
No extra time as the whistle goes for half-time. Everybody breathe.
42 mins: Yellow card for Boateng as Suarez looks to run past him just past the halfway line. Barcelona try to work the ball down the left wing but lose possession.
39 mins: Barcelona are being made to look like amatuers. Bayern Munich have taken control of this match from the get go and they've yet to take their foot off the gas. Robert Lewandowski hasn't even scored yet.
36 mins: Ter Stegen puts Pique under pressure trying to play the ball out from the back. Bayern win the ball and Perisic attempts to curl one into the far top corner but the shot goes wide.
33 mins: Barcelona win a corner and they need to keep the bll up this side of the pitch for a while. Messi sends it in, aiming for Lenglet but Boateng heads the ball clear.
Perisic whips a ball into the box from the left. It goes over Lewandowski and Kimmich picks it up on the right wing. He returns the ball into the penalty area and Muller makes a great run to meet the cross and tap it in.
Thiago passes the ball up to Muller who flicks it over the head of Lenglet. Gnabry runs in behind him and takes hold of the ball. He shrugs off Lenglet as the Barca defender tries to regain his composure and then powrs home Bayern's third.
