A karaoke room and a speakeasy are to be added to Marella Discovery 2 as part of plans to permanently transform the vessel into an adult-only cruise ship next year.
Marella Cruises has confirmed that the ship will be adult-only from November 2027.
The cruise ship is already trialling adult-only sailings next winter and is now set to join Marella Explorer 2 as a dedicated child-free vessel year-round.
As part of the changes, the kids’ spaces on board the ship will be changed into four adult-only concepts, including a speakeasy, escape room, karaoke room, and an arts and crafts area.
Marella Discovery 2 will be homeporting from three ports during the winter 2027 season for winter sun sailings around the Canary Islands.
The ship will depart from Tenerife and Gran Canaria from November 2027 to March 2028, and then Malaga from March 2028 until April 2028.
For winter 2027, Marella Discovery 2 will introduce a new seven-night ‘Atlantic Fusion’ itinerary including a return to Agadir in Morocco.

There will also be a range of five to eight-night repositioning cruises from mainland Spain to the Canaries as well as 14-night transatlantic cruises to the Caribbean.
The rest of the fleet will homeport from a range of European and Caribbean ports.
Marella Cruises has also extended its cruise and stay offering for passengers, with 39 new hotels in Malaga, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Romana, Barbados and Palma, to add to the 197 hotels already available.
Chris Hackney, chief executive of Marella Cruises, said: “Our winter 2027 programme will focus on the regeneration of Marella Discovery 2 returning as an adults-only ship for a second consecutive winter season. With demand for adults-only cruising continuing to grow, we’re investing in four new onboard concepts to enhance the experience even further.
“With brand-new itineraries, festive overnight stays, repositioning cruises, transatlantic cruises and an expansion of 39 hotels for our cruise and stay offering, we’re continuing to evolve our holidays to give customers more ways to cruise with Marella Cruises.”
