Ice skating icons Dame Jayne Torvill and Sir Christopher Dean have been added to the lineup for Saga Cruises’ “Canary Island Wonders” sailing.

The pair, who made made history at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo, will host both a talk and a question and answer session aboard the Spirit of Adventure.

They will share stories from their career spanning multiple British, European, and World Championship titles, plus reveal behind-the-scenes details from their time as coaches and judges on ITV's Dancing on Ice.

The pair are becoming regulars on Saga Cruises sailings. They previously appeared on board Saga's Spirit of Discovery during a “Northern Lights and Festive Delights” cruise in late 2025.

Prices for the 15-night “Canary Island Wonders” cruise start from £3,299 per person. The fare includes transfers to and from the ship, all food and drinks, wifi and tips.

The cruise departs from Portsmouth on 7 December 2026 and includes an overnight stay in Funchal, Madeira.

The sailing includes stops in Canary Island hotspots including La Palma, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. The ship will also visit Lisbon in Portugal before heading back to Portsmouth.

There are included excursions at each stop as well as optional activities such as a tour of the volcanic crater of Mount Teide in Tenerife, a visit to the historic quarter of Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura or a tour of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria via tuk-tuk.

In Lanzarote, passengers can opt for a tour of the Timanfaya National Park or a visit to the Azeitão Winery in Lisbon.

Facilities on the 987-capacity cruise ship include 24-hour room service and gym classes. Each cabin has its own private balcony.
