Breaking: Arsenal explore Vinicius Jr move

Big news from The Athletic this afternoon: Arsenal are exploring a blockbuster move for Vinicius Jr.

The idea has been approved by the Gunners’ hierarchy, according to David Ornstein, although there has been no club-to-club contact with Real Madrid.

It is unclear what Vinicius makes of the idea of joining the Premier League champions, and indeed leaving Madrid. And Madrid would want a sizable fee despite the 26-year-old only having one year left on his contract.

But it might explain why Madrid are trying to hijack PSG’s move for Yan Diomande.

Pedro Neto set to stay put

Chelsea are not actively looking to sell Pedro Neto to Liverpool or any other club.

Liverpool are interested in the 26-year-old Portuguese winger, according to The Evening Standard, but no club has yet contacted Chelsea over a possible move.

The Blues would be open to considering a proposal but would prefer to keep Neto as part of Xabi Alonso’s squad this season.

World Cup hero Vozinha signs for Colo Colo in Chile

Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, who emerged as one of the World Cup's biggest surprise packages, has reached an agreement to join Chilean side Colo Colo, club president Anibal Mosa said on Friday.

The 40-year-old free agent will travel to Chile to undergo a medical before being officially unveiled at the Estadio Monumental, Mosa told reporters ahead of Colo Colo's league match against Deportes Limache.

"Vozinha will be a Colo Colo player. In the coming days he will travel ‌to Chile, undergo the usual medical examinations and then be presented here at the ‌Estadio Monumental," Mosa said.

Mosa added ‌Vozinha's World Cup performances showed he deserved the move, while acknowledging the signing also carried marketing appeal for the Chilean side.

Although the deal has yet to be finalised, Colo Colo teased the signing on social media with an image appearing to show the veteran goalkeeper's trademark curly hair.

Vozinha, who left Portuguese second-tier ‌side Chaves before the World Cup, was voted into FIFA's fan-selected World ‌Cup dream team after helping tournament debutants Cape Verde hold eventual champions Spain to a goalless draw and pushing ‌eventual runners-up Argentina into extra time ‌in the last 32.

Rashford set for Old Trafford return

Marcus Rashford looks set to return to Manchester United after his £40m exit clause expired. The winger has been linked to several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, but The I Paper reports that the 28-year-old is now expected to stay at Old Trafford and given the chance to resurrect his career.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, rather successfully, but the Catalan giants chose not to pick up the €30m (£26m) option to make the deal permanent and instead signed another Englishman – Anthony Gordon – to play on the left wing for them. United are reportedly hesitant to let Rashford leave permanently to another Premier League club, in case he flourishes with them.

Man United 'reach agreement' for Roma star

Manchester United have “reached an agreement in principle” with midfielder Manu Kone, according to Corriere dello Sport in Italy.

They are yet to make a bid, but United will reportedly consider another move for a defensive midfielder this summer after signing Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

Michael Carrick’s side still need reinforcements following the departure of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte suffering a long-term injury at the World Cup.

They also missed out on the signing of Elliot Anderson, who joined rivals Manchester City on a £116m deal.

Kone, who played for France at the World Cup, is valued by Roma at around €50m, with Corriere dello Sport reporting that Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, and Al-Hilal are also interested.

    Vicario set for Juventus?

Juventus are expected to step up their pursuit of Guglielmo Vicario after the goalkeeper was left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour squad.

Vicario was not included in Spurs’ 35-man touring party which started the journey to New Zealand on Thursday morning. A club statement confirmed a “minor injury” meant the Italy international stayed back in England.

However, after Vicario lost his first-choice role to Antonin Kinsky at the end of a difficult 2025-26 campaign, the 29-year-old had already received the green light to leave and his absence from Tottenham’s summer tour will only offer further encouragement to Juventus.

Juventus had placed Argentina and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez at the top of their summer wish list, but Villa director of football operations Damian Vidagany revealed earlier this month that Martinez would not be sold.

After more advances for Martinez failed, PA understands Juventus are ready to move onto alternative options and it will open the door for Vicario to bring his three-year stay at Spurs to an end.

West Ham star joins Al Hilal in deal worth up to £60m

Crysencio Summerville has signed for Al Hilal on a four-year deal which will see West Ham receive up to £60m.

Summerville was expected to leave West Ham following their relegation to the Championship and the Saudi Pro League side are set to beat interest from Premier League clubs in the 24-year-old Netherlands winger.

West Ham have already sold Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham Hotspur in an £85m move, but captain Jarrod Bowen has confirmed that he will remain at the club next season.

Fulham handed boost in race for Real Madrid starlet

Real Madrid are set to sell Gonzalo García to Fulham.

Marca reports that, despite Jose Mourinho admiring the striker, the pull of the Premier League side making the 22-year-old their primary target could be enough.

Fulham would need to table a big bid, but also give up a percentage of the rights.
