Rescue teams on 28 May worked to free eight riders stuck high in the air on a malfunctioning rollercoaster at an amusement park in Galveston, Texas.
Local media coverage showed firefighters at the city's Pleasure Pier positioning a ladder truck under a car containing the trapped riders, guiding them off the ride and down the ladder one-by-one.
Officials told local media the car was suspended 100 feet (30.4 meters) in the air on the Iron Shark rollercoaster after becoming stuck at approximately 5:20 p.m. local time (2220 GMT). There were no immediate reports of injuries.
